New Features of Popular Exhibits & Experiences

These popular and free State Fair experiences are adding new features in 2018:

  • Alphabet Forest: The AmaZing Alphabetini (Debra Frasier) enriches children’s vocabulary and sends them out into the world with their very own “word of power.” (Aug. 23-30)

  • Christensen Farms Stage: Learn fascinating “did you know” tidbits in two new stage programs, “Two Truths and a Lie” and “Food, Facts and Farming,” featuring state agriculture experts, chefs, farmers, food producers and commodity groups.

  • The Common Table: Minnesota Eats: From aquaponics, lazy recipes and likeable insects to straw bale gardens and vermicomposting, a new slate of presentations will engage and enlighten.

  • FFA Chapter House & Leadership Center: Young fair fans are invited to come on in and earn a “Bag of Ag!” FFA youth will lead hands-on AG-tivities and make-and-take crafts to help young people earn a “Bag of Ag” while learning about plants, livestock and the impact of agriculture on everyday life (while supplies last).

  • Health Fair 11: Offering free vision screening for preschoolers.

  • Math On-A-Stick: Escape the plane and move into the third dimension! Will you build a cube, a house, a soccer ball, a stellated octahedron, or some new shape the world has never seen before?
